Your campaigns send from a verified sender identity: the name and address recipients see. Verifying it is what lets mailbox providers trust the mail, and it’s required before a campaign can go out.

Verifying a sender

1

Authenticate the domain first

A sender address lives on a domain. Authenticate that domain with DKIM and DMARC before adding senders on it. See Domain Authentication.
2

Add the sender

Set the from-name and from-address on the verified domain.
3

Confirm and test

Once it’s available, send a test campaign and confirm it lands as expected.

Keeping the list deliverable

A verified sender only stays deliverable if you send to real, engaged addresses. Two features help:
  • ONS+ verification cleans addresses (typos, dead mailboxes, spam traps) at import or capture time. See Plans and billing for how it’s metered. You can also run a one-off verification pass over an existing list.
  • Double opt-in (on forms) holds a newly captured contact until they click a confirmation link, so only real, consenting addresses ever enter your audience.
Hard bounces and spam complaints are added to a suppression list automatically and never contacted again.

Recommendations

  • Use a from-name recipients recognize instantly.
  • Keep sender identities specific to a project or brand.
  • Don’t switch sender identity between related campaigns without a clear reason. Consistency builds recipient trust.
  • Before going live, confirm the sender is verified, its domain is authenticated, and a test send lands.
