Goal. A few days after someone receives their order or hits a success milestone, ask for a review or a quick bit of feedback, when they’re most likely to say yes. Who it’s for. Web2 e-commerce, SaaS, and apps. Outcome to move. Review volume, and feedback you can act on.

Prerequisites

Build it

1

Send a milestone event

Fire an event at the moment worth celebrating, order_delivered, goal_reached, or used_for_30_days.
Other languages follow the same shape, see the API Reference.
2

Wait, then ask

Give them time to actually use it, then ask once:trigger (order_delivered) → wait 5 days → send email (How's it going? Leave a review)Personalize with the product from the event so the ask feels specific, not generic.
3

Route by sentiment (optional)

If your email asks a quick “thumbs up / thumbs down,” send that back as an event (feedback_positive / feedback_negative) and branch: point happy customers to a public review, and route unhappy ones to a support conversation instead of a review site.
4

Activate and publish.

Both are required.

Test

Send the milestone event with your own email and confirm the request arrives after the wait, personalized correctly.

Measure

  • Response rate on the ask.
  • Reviews collected (and average rating).
  • Negative feedback caught before it became a public review.

Variations

  • Only ask the satisfied. Gate the request on a health or engagement signal so you ask your happiest customers first.
  • Incentive, carefully. A small thank-you can lift response, but keep it compliant with the review platform’s rules.
